Transmission Cooler Installation - 2007 Nissan Murano

Today in our 2007 Nissan Murano we'll be installing the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler with Barb Inlets, part number D13503. We're going to go ahead and start out by removing this under-body panel right here. We have push fasteners here and a couple of Phillips head fasteners. Let's go ahead and take a flat blade screwdriver, get underneath the edge of the push fastener. If you have a trim panel removal tool that will also help you get underneath the fastener and pull it out. You just have to work from side to side until they loosen up. There are a couple of Phillips head fasteners here so we'll go ahead and just take a Phillips screwdriver and undo those. Some of them just like to come right out and some of them can put up a little fight. Just work your way across and remove them. Now let's go ahead and set this aside for re-installation later. Now, if you're able to turn your wheel in you'll have more access here to the inner fender well. more

Transmission Cooler Installation - 2009 Nissan Xterra

Today on our 2009 Nissan Xterra we'll be installing the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part number D13502. Our first step will be removing the manufacturer's grill. To do that, across the top there are six push-pin fasteners to be removed. To remove the push-pin fasteners, we'll take a flat-bladed screwdriver, pry on in the center and then remove the entire push-pin fastener. With all six removed, there are two center attachment points where we'll reach in through the top of the grill, press in the locking tab to release the two attachment points, and then there are four more underneath the center bumper support. We'll press on the locking tab, which will release the grill from its position. Now that we have the grill removed, you can see the fasteners that we're securing it. Now with the vehicle in the cold or cool temperature, we'll go ahead and start and run the vehicle until the transmission warms up, checking the temperature at both the in- and outlet, which will be determined as the vehicle warms up. more
